On June 25, 2003, some of our members attended the wreath laying ceremony at the Veterans Memorial at the state capitol. We were honored to post the colors. After this a few of us attended the ceremony at the VA Hospital in Huntington.

Elk River Chapter 190 hosted the 4th annual "Bob Smith Memorial Car Show" in  Clendenin on July 21, 2003. It was a great success. The town and many of the local businesses contributed to this success. But the great effort by Jack Barnhouse who ramrodded the show and the outstanding support of the "Golden Oldies Car Club" were the keys to that success.

Over 80 cars were entered in the show. It was big doings for Clendenin and our chapter of the KWVA. Thanks to everyone and we plan to repeat it next year.

The Chapter participated in the Clendenin 4th of July Parade.   We also plan to take part in the "Clay Golden Delicious Apple Festival" in October.

The chapter donated $200.00 to "WV Gives" for flood relief.
We voted to donate a like amount to the Clendenin Ministerial Association and to the "We Care" project in Clay. These funds were used to provide Christmas baskets and help to the poor during the holiday season

Recently several members have been helping with the construction of the KWVA Memorial being built in South Charleston.  Bob Parsons, Bill Jack, Virgle Eagle. Don Pauley and Chet Fleming have contributed their labor to the memorial.
